Distribution Center Supervisor Pilot Freight Services is searching for an energetic and highly motivated full-time Distribution Center Floor Supervisor Embedded Solutions in the Norfolk, VA area . The Floor Supervisor is embedded in the operation and dedicated to being the best; to standing at the line of action and taking charge of a busy regional distribution center and making sure that teams on the front line are sharp and committed to excellence. You will work directly with the DC Manager to fine tune processes, support the P&L expectations and decisions, and ensure that customers get the kind of treatment you demand for yourself. Own-the-Results Job Description: The Last Mile Home Embedded Solutions Floor Supervisor will report directly to the DC Manager, but will work closely with several other team members throughout all stages of the dedicated delivery service. He/she will be responsible for supporting the execution of the operational delivery team including but not limited to; order routing, KPI management, training of staff, and customer service. Working in partnership with management you will be responsible for daily planning, organizing, controlling and supervising the over-all operations of delivery and return orders. The Floor Supervisor must excel in a HIGH VOLUME FURNITURE & APPLIANCE DELIVERY OPERATION . This person must be one who can execute to a prescribed process in the most efficient manner. They must be able to handle a very fast paced, highly dynamic, and dead-line driven work place environment. This is what you would have done had you been with us last month: Supported the resolution of complex escalations pertaining to Independent Contractors and customers; Reported on issues as needed to ensure complaints are addressed and resolved to client satisfaction Identified and incorporated needed process improvements where necessary to ensure compliance with SLA and SOW agreements Maintained the driver tracking system with current and accurate information Reviewed returns and processed claims sheet daily Imported, planned, reviewed and distributed daily route plans to Independent Contractors and customers Reviewed reports (e.g. average costs, zone performance, survey performance, etc.) to identify and recommend cost reductions /revenue/performance improvements to management Analyzed shipments for cost improvements and trends Requested technical adjustments to driver tracking system to provide employees with the necessary tools to efficiently perform their role and drive productivity within the department Worked with management to deploy daily actions to maintain and improve the motivation and engagement levels of staff. Built a participative approach that increased the positive sense of belonging of all unit members. Monitored team activity and provided direction when needed. Ensured daily activities and/or processes were accurately documented and that the team had a tool to reference in performing their duties. Collaborated with management to plan, prepare and devise work schedules to manage labor demands. Anticipated Independent Contractor staffing needs and communicated proactively to management to allow adequate preparation in filling identified talent gaps between today and future needs. Performed other dynamic duties as required. These are the tools you would have brought with you: Associate degree or equivalent work experience One to three years supply chain experience in transportation, distribution and/or freight management; experience in a large distribution center strongly preferred. One to two years in a supervisory role a plus. Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of customer relationships (vendors, warehousing, sales and upper-management) Strong analytical skills, especially as it pertains to proactively managing and coordinating with others in order to meet our customer s needs Excellent communication and presentation skills and high integrity Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as routing software Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
