Radiology-Breast opening in Portsmouth, Virginia. Diagnostic Breast
Women's/Imaging Location: Physician services shall be provided in
support of Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA (NMCP) and its
associated Branch Health/Medical Clinics (BHC) and Tricare Prime
Clinics (TPC). Work Schedule: Services shall be provided Monday
through Sunday, between the hours of 0700 and 0659 hours. Each HCW
shall normally provide services for a nine (9) hour period (to
include an uncompensated one (1) hour for meal break), Monday
through Sunday. A typical work week is five (5) days (0). Services
may also include weekends and holidays. A typical month will
include (one (1) - two (2) weekend shifts and one (1) - two (2)
weeknight shifts. Weekend (Day/Evening) and weekday evening shifts
shall also be scheduled monthly. One week of six (6) night shifts
(1) may be scheduled quarterly. Any changes in the schedule shall
be coordinated between the HCW and the Government. Work hours can
be flexible so that if work requirements are greater than forty
(40) hours in a given week, they will be adjusted to ensure
performance of no more than eighty (80) hours in a two-week

184.108.40.206.1.1. Have graduated from a residency training program in
Diagnostic Radiology approved by the Accreditation Council for
Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral
Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian
training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority.
220.127.116.11.1.2. Possess and maintain a current Board Certification in
Diagnostic Radiology accredited by the American Board of Radiology
(ABR) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). 18.104.22.168.4.1.
Possess a fellowship in Body Imaging/Fluoroscopic Imaging or 50%
Fluoroscopy over the past thirty-six (36) months. .
22.214.171.124. GENERAL DUTIES. Contractor personnel shall perform a full
range of duties consistent with their labor category, education,
training, experience, clinical privileges (as applicable), and
assigned position. General duties that apply to all personnel or
across certain labor categories are given below. Duties that apply

level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals

techniques as necessary. Comply with infection control guidelines
to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious
wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread

of safety procedures. 18.104.22.168.5. Perform efficiently in emergency
patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm,
informing appropriate persons, and documenting events. Anticipate
potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions.
Notify supervisor, director, or other designated person regarding
problems that the HCW is unable to manage. 22.214.171.124.6. Apply an
awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive
to manage situations in a reduced risk manner. 126.96.36.199.7.
Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as
directed. Participation shall include, but not be limited to,
appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting.
188.8.131.52.8. Exercise awareness and sensitivity to
patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the MTF.
184.108.40.206.9. Maintain an awareness of responsibility and
accountability for own professional practice. 220.127.116.11.10.
Participate in continuing education to meet own professional
growth. 18.104.22.168.11. Attend and/or comply with all annual training
classes required by the Command, to include but not limited to
online annual training provided by the MTF: disaster training,
infection control, Sexual Harassment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire
and Safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and
Explosives (CBRNE), and all other required training. 22.214.171.124.12.
Actively participate in the command's Performance Improvement
Program. Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care
provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care
delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.
126.96.36.199.13. Participate in the provision of in-service training to
clinic staff members. Provide training and/or direction as
applicable to supporting government employe--es (e.g., hospital
corpsmen, students, etc.). 188.8.131.52.14. Attend and participate in
various meetings as directed. 184.108.40.206.15. Perform timely, accurate,
and concise documentation of patient care. 220.127.116.11.16. Operate and
manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, Essentris, MHS
Genesis and Clinical Information System (CIS), participate in
clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management
(RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander. Maintain DOD email
account as directed. The HCW shall be responsive to all email and
voicemail communications. 18.104.22.168.17. Exercise appropriate
delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of
health care team members, patient care, and clinic activities.
22.214.171.124.18. Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in
accordance with clinic directives, and prepare such records and
reports as may be required. All records and reports must be
legible. Abbreviations must be only those listed in local
instructions. 126.96.36.199.1.2.1. Provide comprehensive breast imaging
services, using all available breast imaging modalities. This
includes, but is not limited to, interpretation of mammograms,
sonograms, MRI exams of the breasts, performance of image-guided
biopsies (via mammographic, sonographic, and MRI guidance).
Additionally, the HCW will provide academic instruction, including
lectures, to all radiology residents and fellows as part of the
educational duties as an academic Radiologist and Senior Breast
Imager. 188.8.131.52.1.2.2. Prescribe and dispense medications as
delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
184.108.40.206.1.2.3. Maintain sufficient documented mammographic
interpretations and mammographic procedures to satisfy current FDA
requirements for MQSA interpreting physicians while serving under
