Practice Setting and Clinical Scope

As a Non-Invasive Cardiologist, you will be engaged in an inpatient, outpatient, and clinic-based practice, providing comprehensive cardiac care. Your primary responsibilities will involve performing Electrocardiograms (EKGs) and supervising four Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs), ensuring the highest standards of patient care. You will manage approximately 10 clinic patients per day and handle 12-15 inpatient admissions per day, working alongside a dedicated team of cardiologists and healthcare professionals.

Schedule and Assignment Details

The position offers a structured Monday to Friday schedule with 8-hour day shifts, supplemented by a rotating call schedule shared among the team with a call ratio of 1:6. This predictable schedule supports a healthy work-life balance while allowing you to make a significant impact on patient outcomes. The assignment duration is open-ended, providing flexibility and potential for long-term engagement within the healthcare system.

Support and Work Environment

You will be joining a well-supported medical team, consisting of one other cardiologist and four independent APCs who require physician oversight. The collaborative environment encourages professional growth and allows for a seamless integration into a robust cardiology program. The facility utilizes the EPIC electronic medical record system, ensuring efficient and effective patient management.

Qualifications

• Board-Certified in Non-Invasive Cardiology
• Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required
• Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship and LVAD experience required
• Current DEA and active Virginia medical license required
• Local candidates preferred, as only mileage is reimbursed
• Ability to provide a self-query National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) report
