Our best practices enhance performance and focus intensely on each facilitys critical needs.About the roleCBH of VA is looking for a reliable and qualified LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to care for individuals at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. If you are looking to provide the best quality care for patients in need. You will work under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor or doctor.What you'll doRecord a patients medical history accuratelyTake and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.Monitor patients condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient chartsAssist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasksCollect samples for lab testing as assignedProvide emotional and psychological support when neededCommunicate with patients family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructionsQualificationsLPN (Required)BLS Certification (Required)Nursing: 2 years (Preferred)Proven experience as LPN or similar roleAbility to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary teamFamiliarity with hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and proceduresUnderstanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practicesExcellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminologyGood knowledge of MS Office and data entryPerfect physical condition and staminaExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCompassionate and able to handle stress as well as working autonomouslySuccessful completion of LPN license program is a mustBenefits:Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programEmployee discountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offReferral programTuition reimbursementVision insuranceJob Type:Full-timeby Jobble
