Come partner with us!Our benefits/perks can include the following:--- Employee Assistance Program--- Professional Development Assistance--- Vacation/Sick days--- All Federal Holidays--- Wellness Program--- 401(k)--- Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life--- Referral Bonus--- Retention Bonus--- Attendance AwardRequirements:Provide evidence of work experience as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist of at least 12 continuous months within the preceding 24 months, including experience with digital imaging and electronic Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).Certified in nuclear medicine technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT), or national certification by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).Must be U.S. Citizen.Duties:--- Calibrate equipment and perform diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physicians, using nuclear medicine scanners and/or scintillation to detect radiation emitted and produce images of organs on photographic film/digital display.--- Arrive, depart, and log completed patients in the command's hospital information system (CHCS) and in the scanner log books. According to department protocol, send the appropriate image series to the radiologist/nuclear medicine physician for reading via the PACS.--- Measure the radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, scintillation, or similar type detectors.--- Follow command requirements and radiation safety protocols in using and disposing of radioactive materials.--- Perform unscheduled procedures as requested by the requesting physician within one hour.--- Receive patients and explain procedures (including the use of radioactive material), providing humane and appropriate care and communication to alleviate fear of the examination. Correctly position the patient for the examination and make technical adjustments necessary for the required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is required.--- Stock and maintain an adequate level of supplies required for various interventional examinations.--- Adhere to radiation safety policies and procedures per the command's Naval Radioactive.--- Materials Permit (NRMP) and Nuclear Medicine Division standard operating procedures (SOP).--- Document all procedures and maintain records per the Nuclear Medicine SOP.--- Assist in coordinating schedules, daily logs, and data submission for monthly reports.--- Perform limited administrative duties for maintaining records for a teaching hospital-based radiation safety program. Follow the directions of the command's Radiation Safety Officer or his designated representative.--- Perform system calibrations and quality control tasks per the manufacturer and command instructions daily. Recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify designated Government personnel of outlying values.--- Initiate repair call procedures for equipment malfunctions by notifying designated Government personnel. Report problems to the Biomedical Repair Section and record the problem condition in the trouble call log book.--- Observe and report to the radiologist or nuclear medicine physician any symptoms which have a direct bearing on the patient's condition as a result of adverse reaction to radiopharmaceuticals and inform the radiologist or nuclear medicine physician of any condition requiring his/her attention.
