PHYSICIAN - ANESTHESIOLOGISTSITE OF SERVICE:

• Physician services shall be provided in support of Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA (NMCP) and its associated Branch Health/Medical Clinics (BHC) and Tricare Prime Clinics (TPC).
• Shall receive notification forty-eight (48) hours prior to reassignment with a forty (40) mile commuting radius of their assigned location.
• Full time positionPOSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
  • Education: FROM ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
    • Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained (e.g. Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
    • A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States.
    • Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination
    • Certification: Possess and maintain a current Board Certification in Anesthesiology accredited by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology.
    • Additional Certifications: Current hands-on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
      • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
      • Possess Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
      • Experience: Possess experience as an Anesthesiologist of at least two (2) years, within the preceding three (3) years.
      • Licensure: Possess a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Island.
      • U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen
      • English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
      • Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.HOURS:
        • Monday through Friday between the hours of 0600 and 1800 hours.
        • Shifts will include an uncompensated thirty (30) minute meal break
        • Contract HCWs will not be required to work on federally recognized holidays.BENEFITS:
