Position: Human Resources ManagerLocation: Corporate office, Portsmouth, VA. Status: FT ExemptMYMIC LLC is a high-technology company that combines subject matter and technical expertise with superior program management to deliver innovative, relevant and practical solutions for our customers. These solutions include Enterprise IT Services, Business Process Management, System/Network Certification & Accreditation, JCIDS/Requirements Analysis Support and Training & Exercise Support.The Human Resources Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate human resource management activities using technical knowledge in human capital management to maintain functions such as employee benefits, recruitment, training, employment policies and regulatory compliance.Responsibilities

  • The Human Resources Manager will advise and counsel senior managers, business unit employees, and organizational leaders on all personnel matters
  • Complete onboarding requirements for new employees including orientation communication during first week of employment
  • Organize, support, and communicate employee events near site locations twice a year
  • Plan, organize and control activities of the HR department with participation in developing goals, setting objectives and system administration including an internal Sharepoint site
  • Analyze, manage, communicate and administer company employee benefits programs
  • Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures; develop and maintain handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, review invoices for payment and annual re-evaluation for cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure timely and accurate HR advice supporting MYMIC managers and employees
  • Manage employee relations concerns, including performance deficiencies and policy violations. Perform workplace investigations with accurate documentation of results in a timely manner and recommend actions to senior management
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action program; file EEO-1, VETS, OSHA; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform with federal and state regulations
  • Manage employee annual performance review process and support supervisors with their role in the process
  • Participate as the Human Resources member of proposal team when needed
  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of personnel records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality with updates in HRIS, ADP's WorkForce Now
  • Oversee the recruiting and hiring lifecycle process supporting the recruiter in updating labor category/job description and advertising through the on-boarding procedures
  • Actively communicate with employees on a regular basis and recognize years of service with support from supervisors and managers
  • Support a small business office environment in cooperation with co-workers and senior leadership
  • Administrative office support with telephone functions, copier inspections, welcoming guests and processing business cards
  • Assist Facility Security Officer (FSO) with JPAS requirements and clearance functions
  • Meeting with outside investigators providing employee records with clearance requirements
  • Engage with managers and staff through the life cycle of employment supporting open communication and work connections
    • Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, business or other related field, from an accredited institution. Minimum 3 years? experience in a HR Generalist role
    • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification a plus
    • Background/experience in Federal Contracting highly preferred
    • Knowledge of Quality Management (ISO 9001) a plus
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customer service a priority
    • Strong technical skills to include fluency in Microsoft programs (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and experience using an HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and/or other similar programs
