Hiring Company: Delicatessen Services Co., LLCOverview:Reporting to the Director of Environmental, Health & Safety, the Sr. Safety Manager is responsible for providing program development and support to each facility in the quest to achieve a ZERO incident culture. The Sr. Safety Manager has the responsibility of implementing programs across the enterprise to ensure compliance and performance in the elimination of incidents.Job Description:Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor safety legislation and ensure facility safety staff is kept up to date on new regulationsParticipate in regulatory safety inspectionsEnsure compliance with minimal safety & health standardsAnalyze job duties of associates to reduce work stressors and injuriesRe-enforce the Zero incident culture by implementation of fresh programsEnsure safety staff is current on training needs and abilities to obtain Zero incident cultureConduct root cause analysis of critical incidentsProduce reports and document for leadership to support Zero incident cultureEnsure maintenance of documentation for critical incidentsWork closely with direct reports to ensure proper usage of capital, operational and training budgetsWork closely with direct reports to promote change to a Zero incident culture making safety instinctive in all employeesManage a staff of Safety Managers located at each facilityCommunicate effectively with management on safety concernsDevelop training programs and conduct training on special safety topicsParticipate in staff meetingsBe able to predict potential emergency situations and create procedures to reduce or eliminate the situationConduct statistical analysisSpecial projects and other duties, as assignedEducation and Experience To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or related field7-10 years' experience in Safety preferred, or comparable experienceExcellent communication skills with a proven track record in written communication, with ability to communicate with various levels of management and employeesMust have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsProficiency in Microsoft word, excel and powerpointMust be able to work professionally and independently, with little supervision, and ability to multitaskCritical thinker and listener, with strong organizational skillsUp to 50% travel required#LI-TB1Location:Petersburg, VATime Type:Full timeDepartment:Safety
