The Health and Outcomes and Biotechnology Solutions (HOBS) business
line is currently seeking a Research Engineer II to support our
government customer in Portsmouth, VA (partial remote available).
This Public Health (PH) program enables our government customer to
maximize readiness through force health protection (FHP) strategies
and solutions for current and potential Public Health (PH) threats.
The core scientific and technical capabilities and product lines in
this program are to conduct Health Surveillance, Epidemiology, and
Analysis; Disease and Injury Prevention; and PH Consultation and
Support for the benefit of active-duty service members, retirees,
and their families. Battelle shall enable these capabilities and
product lines by providing Scientific and Technical Information
(STI) deliverables, by performing Research, Development, Test and
Evaluation (RDT&E), and other Research and Development
(R&D) related analytical services.

Job Summary
Applies expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding
innovative, cost-effective means to improve research, techniques,
procedures, and/or products and technologies.
Responsibilities
Provides research engineering, technical, and managerial direction
for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and
implementation for complex systems in the engineering
discipline.
Developing, conducting and evaluating new approaches to meet
technical requirements faster and more efficiently.
Perform inquiries, assessments, analyses, studies, reviews, and
investigations through data analysis, modeling, predictive
analytics, and interpretation.
Makes recommendations and advises on research development,
improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
Performs risk assessments and innovative use of new research
concepts or improved techniques and procedures.
Key Qualifications
Possess Bachelor's in a related field.
At least 5-12 years of experience in the field or in a related
area.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and
procedures.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security
clearance.
